Coach’s-Corner; “Hey Coach-JiM, What are your top three diet recommendations for people over 55?” Choose, Cruise & Lose!!!
• Choose 6-ON & 1-OFF
• Cruise the Mediterranean
• Lose the Booze
*6 ON 1 OFF = Six days regimented and 1 day recreational, meaning if you want to eat larger amounts, then do so on that day... It positively charges up your metabolism to occasionally have to process all those extra, healthy, high nutrient calories... And it doesn't have to be ALL Healthy on that day. I had a woman who wanted to lose 60 lbs in one year before her 60th birthday, and she stuck to program 6 days a week, then one day every week, usually Sunday, she'd eat Wedding Cake... She loved Wedding cake, and Even more, she loved the results this program gave her... And now some 15+ years later, she's kept the weight off!
*Mediterranean = as I post this, it's October, which is breast cancer awareness month, and I found a link from a radiologist recommending a specific dietary intake to lower breast cancer risk... And low & behold, its full of the Mediterranean meal basics I've recommended for decades, to training clients and to my Parkinson's clients, as laid out in my book "got Parkinson's?... are you sure?!?
_Seems Medi-diet is as good for Breast Cancer as it is for PD,
Read this link, get started going Mediterranean, look inside your copy of my book for more extensive details (hint...hint) because it makes no sense to lose weight and still stay stuck with a body full of inflammation.

And finally lose the booze... Well do you really need to ask?!?
Never once have I ever heard an interview read a detailed story or seen a successful athletic program that says "Oh yeah and don't forget to drink more Booze , Hooch and Vino...everyday!!!"
Here's a link for the party people and the teetotalers alike...
Wow A link that's fair and balanced...Hell I'll drink to that!
