Watch out for that… Treeeee!
Someone asked me WHAT are some current fitness trends that people over 55 should be aware of? The first thing that crossed MY Mind was "aware of, or wary of?"
Jus' because something is trending doesn't mean that "Smart Seniors" should be trying it... Know what I mean?!?
So, have you heard of or are considering Tree-bumping, Tree-slapping and tree-patting? These are a few variations of controversial fitness trends that involve Seniors colliding with tree trunks or hitting them with their hands.
Sounds to me like "knee-jerk reaction" to being a Tree-Hugger...

HYROX vs CrossFit - which is the best fit for Senior Fitness?
Anyone who's worked with me over the last 40+ years will know I believe there is no One-size-fits-All workout, BUT, if I had to choose ONE of these two formats to do the rest of my life, I'd choose....
(Insert a drumroll here.................)
*Well, read this linked article to find out more for yourself -

Rucking is a terrific option for walkers who want more; slap on a backpack and hit the road jack - just be sure it fits properly and is weight-filled appropriately for your fitness level and core/back (or as I call it "Union") health.

Some say the program has helped them transform mentally and emotionally, while others say it has downsides, such as a lack of scientific basis and specificity, but if its a lifestyle challenge you're looking for, 75-Hard is worth a "look-see"...

Finally, I am frequently asked about Functional Fitness and Hybrid Workouts; well...
Hybrid fitness workouts are just those designed to provide all-around fitness for all-around benefits, and Functional fitness is getting fit for best functioning in life or overall activity, and technically, anything is Functional, (until you push too hard, get too sore to move become totally uninterested in fitness because you're too pooped to Function any more...
So, more specific, please...and thank you.
