Our End-of-the-Year Letter that’s a “Forward-focused” review by looking in the “Rear-view”… Finally!
“Is ‘Sloth’ Always a Sin, or Is There a Time when You Want to be The Last One?
FINALLY… Hopefully the Last “Holiday Letter” you’ll have to make a choice to “read or refuse”, but this one is ALL because of You… Thank you for 2024!
Like any end of the year, "Holiday-Letter" we’ll try to keep it “upbeat & positive” but, unlike the stereotypical Family Holiday letter known for "bragging" about how well everything went for little Johnny and Sweet Suzy, and their amazingly perfect Family, I'd like to make this about YOU and "brag" about how the donations to our nonprofit organization, REBOPS for Parkinson's, made so many wonderful things happen this past year of 2024...
What's more, it's not just about & How things are and have been, BUT emphasizing MORE on What We Hope For after 2024, in the New Year to come...
I'd really like it to have a sweet sentiment of appreciation for everyone who donated and participated this past year...
BUT I’m not good at syrupy sweet (makes me a better Trainer, I’m sure?!?), so let’s keep it between the lines, both hands on the wheel, and take a drive down “Route 2024”, shall we???
In This Past 2024 we experienced :
-The Publication of the first of it's kind Book, "got Parkinson's?...are you sure?!?"... Followed by a community service Book Signing & Gifting at our Northern Illinois Goodwill, thanks to the help of Trisha Welte,(thanks Trisha!), on top of that a terrific experience at the Rockford Local Author's Bookfair (thank you Karla J Clark)…
-We also held the first ever Parkinson's Foundation Community Walk for Awareness, in conjunction with the REBOPS Lunch & Learn featuring the renowned Specialist, Dr. Jori Fleisher, and special thanks to Mike Schneider for introducing Dr. Jori to our Rockford Community…
-We saw my wife Carrie create a booming Silver Sneaker's following, growing class size from zero to two-dozen attendees…
-And in April we brought hope to those with Parkinson's at the Tour De Scottsdale@ in Arizona...
In 2024 we Leaned into each other to bond and build community; we lost some dear old friends and we landed new one's ...We Lost Jean H.(rip), but we gained Jason, Teri, Rick & Rod, ... We even had Barb's Adult Kids come & Join in our Workout classes to experience first hand just how hard their 80+yr old Mom works (& we're hoping for more of that to come with Family members from our other Parkinson's participants, as it’s part of our Nonprofit missionb), etc...
I'd like to finish with the Concept that in 2025, what we are is "Open For Hope, in 2025!" & We're "Hopin’ that you'll Hop in" and join us!!!
This Coming year of 2025 We Hope to see; the Launch of an all new Course called 'Longevity 101' — Living Longer, Living Better"...
We hope for more Speaking Dates to share the power to change lives and lifestyles found within the "got Parkinson's?" Book...',
We'd be honored to hold a 'Second Annual Parkinson's Foundation Walk'…
We're excited for Progress on an "A.I." we’re researching/developing specifically for those with Parkinson's, named 'P.A.M.I.' (aka Parkinson's Activity Management Interface)...
We're brainstorming how to improve our REBOPs Classes' to be even better at battling back the symptoms of Parkinson’s…
We want to Develop a local Caregiver's Assistance Support Team ( aka "C.A.S.T.") because it takes a Cast for a production as big as Life w/Parkinson's, and other demanding conditions as well...
In 2025 (and hopefully, beyond) we wish and pray for healing and health for everyone we can help, we'll work to expand the reach and impact of our REBOPS for Parkinson's program, Carrie & I will be turning 126 yrs old (combined) right off the bat in the New Year and we will be taking our decades of Training experience to emphasize our "Aging-Pro" Program, to not only make the most of our own older age, but hope to help you with yours as well...
Read On in this edition of The Aging Pro Newsletter and you'll find the "reverse-poem" inspired by our upcoming Birthdays (Valentine's Day for us BOTH)...
It's titled "How much is left in me", and I wrote it to first, be read Top to Bottom, but then I turned it on it's head, and when you read it "backwards", line by line from bottom to top, it makes everything coming our way, more interesting... Enjoy!
2024 was a Wonderful Year, with blessing and burdens, but mostly with opportunities to decide and choose, every day, which one we would focus forward on - seeing burdens, or seeking blessings.
Thank you for your help and support, and I wish You Good Health & God’s Blessings in 2025.
